Hey there, I'm Umaimah.

I'm a designer/artist who loves to use whimsical styling and attention-grabbing colors in my design work. I spend most of my time painting, collecting floral dresses, trinkets and playing with my calico kitten. Clients include: Disney TVA, Cartoon Network,Warner Brothers, and more.

​​Solo Gallery Exhibition - The Animation Guild
​
Umaimah's solo gallery show 'coloured braids' took place at
the TAG gallery In Burbank, CA, with the opening reception on
April 6th, 5-8pm PT. The opening reception was a hit with various 
people in and out of the animation industry dropping by to view the
​pieces and support the artist.

Artist Alley - LightBox Expo
​
​​​Lightbox expo is an art event that connects fans with the artists and creators behind their favorite films, animation, games, TV shows and illustrations. It’s a place for aspiring artist to come and learn and be inspired, and it’s also an amazing art marketplace like no other with over 20,000 attendees. The team of Lightbox expo selects the best artists and designers in the animation and creative field to host panels, showcase their work in artist alleys to meet fans or give demos of their work. In the year 2020, Umaimah was invited to give a talk about her role in animation and in 2023, she is invited back to join the artist alley, a large number of artists from around the world apply for this but only a few are selected.

​Umaimah was invited back for a solo Black n Animated episode to talk
​about how she reached her success as a character designer.

Virtual Event: SCAD Alumni: Umaimah Damakka talks about Prop (Model) and Color Design at Savannah College of Arts and Design.

Umaimah gave a talk and presentation about her career in Prop (Model) Design and Color Design, she took the students through how to make a good enough portfolio that will land you jobs in the animation industry. She also spoke about what each job entails and what it looks like with professional studios.
